Yey! It's time for The Old Lucketts Store Annual Groundhog Sale! The event is being held this weekend Fri Feb 3rd - Sun Feb 5th. 10-5 all three days!

Also the amazingly talented Miss Mustard Seed has come back to roost in my room! My friend Jane, who was sharing my space, has traded spaces with Marian. Marian just has a couple of pieces in stock right now, she's on a bit of a hiatus while she finishes writing her book. She'll be back in March though, so look for her then!

New Photos - New Roommate!

Here are the latest photos of my space at Lucketts!

This huge Teal clock and the gorgeous Aqua Lamps are sold already! I've got lots more wonderful things coming in though, you just have to grab them when you see them, most things sell very quickly at Lucketts!

This is a cute little Frenchy Coffee table. I love these black Iron Arch topped mirrors, I have a trio of these in my space right now. Such a great look!

I painted this Drum Table with Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint in "Graphite" with a dark wax over top. It's sold already too!

I only have a couple of these London Fabric Subway Banners in the shop right now, but I have more on the way, also the French version will be back in stock soon and I will also be adding a New York one as well.

I really like the look of this narrow table, great for in a foyer or behind a Sofa. I love the combination of the iron and wood, and the distressed grey patina is lovely!

I also have a new roommate! My old roommate, Miss Mustard Seed, has earned her own space and has moved to the third floor so be sure and visit her there! My new roommate is named Jane, and she has an awesome look that I think you will love! If you're local to Frederick, MD you may remember her gorgeous shop Tableau, from a couple of years ago. She's been bringing in some fabulous antique pieces with great prices! The gorgeous Pier Mirror and curvy French Commode that you see here, are both sold already.

I love this little Frenchy gold chair, she has a pair of them available.

I'm also mad about this gorgeous French Grey Server or Buffet with stained wood top. This is an excellent quality piece!

This cute little Cabinet sold right away too!

Jane has been bringing in a beautiful selection of Crystal Sconces and Chandeliers. These Sconces sold very quickly, but don't worry she'll bring in more!

Lucketts Store Groundhog Sale & New Photos!

I've have two pieces of news! First a big welcome to Marian from Mustard Seed Interiors! Marian is joining me in my space at Lucketts, she will be selling her gorgeous hand-painted signs and vintage furnishings as well as her fabulous upholstered furniture pieces!! She painted the amazing Union Jack dresser (sorry, it's sold already!) that you see at the top of the photos, and did the beautiful French chairs as well. The Lion Coffee sign is another one of her fab creations. Marian does work for HGTV, as well as Cottages and Bungalows Magazine, I think you will love her unique style! Welcome Marian!

And secondly... it's that time of year again!!! The Lucketts Store annual Groundhog Day sale will be held this weekend, February 4th, 5th, & 6th! Come prepared with a big truck and comfortable shoes, there will be loads of awesome stuff and lots of bargains too!! Hope to see you there!

I love these old metal number signs, they look great in the new metal number planters!

I hope you're having a wonderful Summer!! The shop has been busy this season, with lots of travelers stopping in. I've tried to stock a variety of small and larger items, to fit my customers design needs and budgets. New items include pretty coral topped bottles, some fun new clocks, great looking linen crown pillows, French style striped linens, glass bird topped canister jars, metal shoe wall decor, some fabulous looking mirrors, and some lovely turquoise terra cotta birds.

Happy Spring! New Shop Photos

I'm sure by now you realize that I'm completely hopeless when it comes to updating this blog on a regular basis! I do get new things in all the time, I just don't remember to photograph them very often. So sorry! Anyway, here it is Spring again and I've moved things around in my space. I purchased a gigantic old store counter with no less than 27 bins in it (sorry it's not for sale at this time) to display all kinds of wonderful thing inside of it.

I've brought in lots of metal rustique pieces in French grey like Crown sconces and new extra large metal Crown hooks, as well as some fun bottles in wire mesh that are great to use as bud vases. I have some wonderful huge green wooden lanterns, great for candles, but they also make wonderful display boxes for special little items. I've also got lots of beautiful framed prints, some with birds or florals on burlap, and some framed architectural prints as well as framed bird cage prints.

All items are available in the shop only, sorry but I'm not doing any mail order at this time!

Just a few Photos for January

Well, I finally remembered to bring my camera to the shop, and I took a few photos so you could see what's new in my room. I took these photos about a week ago and already many of these items are sold, but I have more of most of these on order so, I should be restocking soon!
Included in the photos above are framed Paris and crown prints, lovely typography glass plates, a blue wooden requilary, rustic wooden totes and trays, framed moth prints, Frog princes with crowns and some little bird cages to display them in, new matches, pink wooden lanterns and burlap botanicals.

Here are the photos of my space at Lucketts Store all dressed up for the Holidays!! As you can see there is a plethora of mercury glass this year, lots of sparkly deer, an Angel section including some gorgeous giant carved angel wings, a garden themed area with huge red Amaryllis from a company in France, and some lovely religious statues. I hope you enjoy the photos!

The Lucketts Fair -2009 - This weekend!

The Lucketts Fair is being held this weekend at the Lucketts Community Center. The dates are Saturday Aug. 22nd & Sunday Aug. 23rd from 10-5 both days. We'll have loads of great stuff at the shop too, including extra tents full of wonderful things outside, and the Design House will also be open, so stop by and see us!! Great Design Elements - Local Coffee Shop

A few days ago my friend Lisa took me to a new coffee shop in Leesburg, Va. I don't know who designed the interior, but it had some amazing design elements in it, that I just couldn't resist photographing it. The style was industrial chic, and what I really loved was the use of so many of the original features of the building. For many years this place was an old shoe repair shop, as you can see by the original neon sign above!
These wonderful antique doors were a welcoming site as was the little dog bowl of water along the sidewalk!

My favorite feature was the fabulous shoe chandelier that you see above!! It's hung with antique shoes and boots of all shapes and sizes, and check out the awesome metal ceiling!

Not to be missed was this huge chalkboard, obviously quite popular with the regular patrons, judging by how well used it is!

These tin pails turned into ceilings light fixtures were just too clever!

These were the original shoe signs still hung in place near the counter.

I have to confess this chandelier was hanging in the ladies room, it was so cute, how could I not photograph it?!!

This is the awning out front. The name of the coffee shop is Shoes, Cup & Cork Club. You can click Here for their website. My friend Lisa tells me they have great coffee, I wouldn't know since I'm not a coffee drinker, but I did have a big chocolate chip cookie that was quite tasty. Next time I plan on trying one of their delicious sounding smoothies!

Where Bloggers Create Party!

Well, today's the day for the "Where Bloggers Create" Party! Thank you to Karen Valentine for hosting this event, it was just the kick in the pants I needed to finish getting my office in order! Be sure and hop over to Karen's blog "My Desert Cottage" to see the links for the rest of the party participants and see all of their beautiful creative spaces, including Karen's!

My office is quite small, it's in our basement and has no windows unfortunately, but I do love having my own little space. It really is like a sanctuary to me, I work in here of course, but I also do meditation here so, that's why I have the comfy white chaise lounge chair.

These are a few trinkets I've had for years, some old millinery flowers and an antique metal statue that I bought at a yard sale for 25 cents!

This French Provincial dresser gives me lots of storage. I bought the beautiful old angel print from my friend Pat at Lucketts Store (where I work and sell my wares).

I love this pine cubby piece, would you believe I pulled it out of the Trash at Lucketts?! I swear we have the best trash anywhere, you would not believe some the stuff that gets thrown out there! I added the metal numbers to the cubby, I sell them in my shop and on Etsy, they just seem to go with everything!

The old photo on the left is of my grandmother, she's no longer with us, but still watches over me! I bought the fabulous oak 4 drawer file cabinet from my Friend Heather, another dealer at Lucketts.These are just a few things that I've made or collected. I'm quite partial to old Alabaster pieces and have quite a few of these tiny bird baths, as well as lamps around my home.

This is a dear sweet china head doll that I bought about 15 years ago, her dress is shattering from age, but you should see all the layers of undies she has!

These wire shelves aren't really that pretty but, I love how super easy they are to put together and take apart. I have these in my storage area to hold my inventory and you can really get a lot of stuff on them!

I adore these antique oak spool cabinets, there are actually 2 here stacked on top of each other. I bought one from my friend Mary Lou at Lucketts.

I own lots of old books, I often scan them to put on my Graphics Fairy site.

I bought my desk from my friend Chad, yet another dealer at the Old Lucketts Store. Chad is know for his pale frenchy blue paint and distressed finishes.

I sell these wire photo/card displays at the shop, they make great inspiration boards! My husband gave me the angel calendar for Christmas. How do you like the screensaver on my computer?

I love using old pieces for storage. I purchased the antique English marmalade jar from my good friend Lisa. And yes, Lisa is also at Lucketts! Sorry, to keep repeating the "L" word, but well, there are over 30 of us and I do shop there alot!!

I just picked up this oak file cabinet with all the drawers in it and I am loving all the storage that it is providing! The gray cubby is filled with antique ephemera.

Here's a peek into one of the drawers of the file cabinet. I lined all of them with pages from an old Encyclopedia.

This fabulous early pine shelf (Purchased from my friend Jennifer, at "you know where"!) holds my collection of vintage religious and Catholic pieces.

I love these! Just look at the detail on these two gorgeous metal French statues!!

This cupboard used to be in our kitchen in our old house. Now that it's in my office it holds books, my journals and catalogs. It's a little messy but, functional!

This little corner is the perfect spot for my sweet Corgi, Tucker, or Mr. Tucker as I call him.

Mr. Tucker looks quite pleased with his space, don't you think?!!

New Old Stuff , New New Stuff, and a New Blog Design

Last Friday, I got a hot tip that Daily Candy would be visiting the shop on Monday morning. I spent my weekend scrambling to get some things together for the shop, since I had sold down a good bit during my vacation. Luckly I had a few fab pieces in my garage that were perfect for the look I was trying to pull together, including the wonderful basket chandelier, and the giant metal and glass lantern. Next I took a drive out to some of my secret antique/junque shops, waaaayy out in the boonies and found the fabulous vintage cardboard dress form and amazing industrial laundry cart shown above! As luck would have it, I don't think the Candy people took a single photograph in my room, but I'm still pleased with the results and hopefully my customers are too!

In other news, I've been working on a new design for my blog, I'm still tweaking it but thought I would try out the new background and header for now.

Lavender Farm - Sonoma County Trip

Last week I was on vacation, visiting my parents at their home in Sonoma County, California. Mom & Dad took me to Matanzas Creek Winery in Santa Rosa and we toured their beautiful Lavender gardens. I thought you might enjoy seeing some of the photos of the gardens.

The scent of the Lavender was out of this world, I wish you could smell it!

The orange umbrellas above were quite a striking contrast to all the purple.

I love how the Lavender mounds and the rows were so pretty!

There were several of these pink Gladiolas scattered about, this shade of pink was just gorgeous against the purple.
This hedge went on for quite awhile. I love the shape of it and the texture!

This was the little water garden where the Lily's were growing. Beautiful stone work!

Right behind this spot, was a lovely grove of Oak trees and a picnic area where we enjoyed out lunch!

New items for Spring Market - Marie Antoinette!

I've loaded up my space with all kinds of wonderful things just in time for our annual Spring Market at Lucketts Store, this weekend! I've done a theme of "Marie Antoinette" on my back wall, where you will find some very special things, including exquisite "Marie" themed soaps and lip balms (embellished with glitter), ornate gold candleholders and frames, darling cards, the sweetest pink cake tags and cards, and the most amazing handmade tiny Mariesque shoes!! Oooooh my those shoes! So many to choose from and each one so stunning they will make you swoon. Embellished with vintage and antique laces, trims, buttons, german glass glitter, delightful patterned papers, and delicious fabrics. Handmade with great care by my friend Karen Otto, an amazing artist on the West Coast.

Lucketts Store Spring Market - May 30-31 - 2009

New Photos for Spring - Finally!

Well, I apologize for how long its been since I posted photos here! I've added quite a few pictures this time to try to make up for it!

I have so many wonderful things that have just come in for Spring. Some of my favorites include: a new paper line with gorgeous colors and funky artsy graphics, the most special soaps wrapped in papers with birds, nests and bees and embellished with glitter, beautiful decoupage paperweights, pretty glassware (new and old), bird and nest coasters, bamboo mats with Spencerian Script writing, Antique Ironstone pieces, lead grey numbered hand hooks, enameled metal letter tags, French crown doormats and currently two wonderful vintage typewriters.

In other news, the Design House will be open this coming weekend May 1, 2 and 3.

Lucketts Holiday Open House - Nov 7 -9

It's that time of year again! The Lucketts 2nd annual Holiday Open House will be held on Nov 7-9 The event will begin on Friday (the 7th) and we'll be open from 10-9, with a bonfire being held Friday evening. On Saturday & Sunday the shop will be open from 10-5. It should be loads of fun we'll have lots of food and of course the shop will be beautifully decorated with gorgeous items to put you in the holiday spirit!!

I will be bringing in loads of holiday items this and all of next week for my room so, if you want a sneak peek, stop in to see what I have. But, of course you won't see the full effect until the official open house on Nov 7th. I will try to take some pictures next week to post on the blog as well. Meanwhile here are a few Halloween photos, these were taken awhile ago so some of it has sold down, but there's still lots of great items left, and many are on sale.

Here's what's new for June! I just filled my room with many new items including, some beautiful mirrors with iron details ($59 ea), an amazing hand painted tin "Heavenly Soles" sign ($229), gorgeous etched glass hurricanes ($59 ea), an iron bird cage, an iron bird cage mirror ($59), a nice wooden display/cuttlery box with glass door lid ($59), creamy iron crown hooks (12 ea), lots of butterfly and bee themed items, cute porcelain letter and number balls, wonderful handmade journals, a leather book box (with drawers) ($29) and pretty gray wooden trays ($16 ea).

Spring Market- May 17th & 18th 2008

The Lucketts Spring Market is almost here!!! The 7th annual Lucketts Store Spring Antique Market will be held this weekend May 17th & 18th from 10-5 both days. New Items for Spring

Well, it looks like I'm way overdue on posting photos! Here are some recent items that just came in including some wonderful French Country towel sets (great for Mothers Day!), linen door hangers, boxed French candles, some beautiful well made vintage furniture freshly painted in white, fab framed bird prints, carved wooden lamps, Belgian style metal lanterns, and some wonderful paper creations handmade by my friend Rosemary. Rosemary's items are beautifully crafted from paper and glass glitter. She made some gorgeous cones with crepe paper trim, darling party hats, the sweetest little nest boxes and the most wonderful paper and glitter crowns that you'll find anywhere!

These are the most recent photos from the shop! So many wonderful things have been arriving each week, including the wonderful gilded birdcage mirror, two matching gilded tiered drop chandeliers, some wonderful natural history items with insect motifs, marble busts of Napolean and of french women, fabulous French Country style wooden lanterns, an amazing huge lantern style electric chandelier (perfect for in a foyer), gorgeous glassware with etched crowns, and faux coral that looks and feels just like the real deal!

Valentine's Gifts

I was at the shop all day today, restocking after the Groundhog sale! Thankfully many of the items that I ordered during my buying trip to Atlanta have been arriving so I have loads of gorgeous new things to put in my space. I took quite a few photos, but thought I would narrow it down today, to just the Valentine themed items. Some of my favorites are shown above, including fabulous tin Sacred Hearts, beautiful Angel wing heart wall plaques, Terra Cotta Cherubs, Gorgeous heart shaped tags that come with mini skeleton keys, and wonderful Valentine's Postcards that are embellished with glitter.

The Groundhog Sale is Fri, Sat, & Sun - Feb 1-3!

Just a reminder, the Lucketts annual Groundhog sale is this weekend! The sale will be held Friday - Sunday on February 1,2 &3 from 10-5 each day. This is the big one, the only storewide sale for the entire year, many many wonderful things will be marked down to fabulous prices! The Design House will be open and will be participating in the sale as well.

News (& New Items) For January

Wow, I can't believe it's January already! It's been quite awhile since I've posted last so, I have a bit of catching up to do. First off, I never did get around to announcing the winner of the Gift Certificate, the winner was Leena from Leesburg. Leena was notified immediately after the drawing, I just didn't get around to posting it here until now. So, if any of you were waiting to see if you won, I'm so sorry for leaving you hanging!

Next, the Groundhog sale is less than two weeks away! This is our one and only storewide sale event of the year at Lucketts Store. This year the sale will be held on Friday, Saturday & Sunday Feb 1-3 from 10-5 each day. I'll post more info on this next week!

Also, I just got back from the huge gigantic gift show in Atlanta, I found, and ordered, so many wonderful things so be sure to check in often over the next couple of months to see what's new!

Lastly, check out the photos above to see some of my latest favorite finds. I was at the shop all day today reworking the whole space and filling it with lots of new, and some old, items. Some of my favorites are the Madonna statue that can go outdoors or in, the Lavender tree, new French glassware, fabulous new French burlap totes, lots of bird, nest and egg related pieces, darling crown hooks in silver and gold, lovely towels embroidered with Napoleonic bees and Fleur- de -lis, more antique ironstone, antique Bonne Annee postcards from France and stunning loving cup lamps done in a nickle silver finish and sporting smart looking white and black shades!

Holiday Photos - Part 3- The final photos

This is the angel area, where you can find carved wooden angel wings, angel cloche ornaments and boxes, beautifully framed angel prints and a wonderful giant angel with a Winter scene embedded under her skirt.

I don't really have a name for this section. It's filled with glittery stuff , like darling glass glitter crowns, bottle brush stars and trees, and pink vintage ornaments. The glittery reindeer were cute flying around this mobile ornament chandelier but, sorry they're sold out already!

This is the red section. In this area you will find red velvet cones and stockings and sweet birds in all shapes and sizes.

This area is a mix of mercury glass birds and urns, gold crosses, silver glass glitter stars, and some wonderful vintage treasures! One of my favorite things is the gold crown card/photo holder on the table in the second photo, this is a great way to display holiday cards!

Well, I finished the room a day early (I kind of cheated, as I started a day early) and so as of today it's back open and ready to be shopped! There is so much to see and I took loads of photos so, I instead of overloading you with it all in one day, I am going to post photos of a different area each day. Today's area is the Paris themed portion of my room. I have eiffel towers in every shape and size, including a giant glass glitter eiffel tower, eiffel tower boxes, wire eiffels etc. The paris postcards come in a tin and are glittered as well, I only have a few of these, and I can't get anymore, so if you love these (and I'm sure you will, they are gorgeous) don't hesitate to grab them! Also in short supply are the darling French word flags, these are fabulous as well! Hope you enjoy the photos, check back tomorrow for more.

Holiday Open House - 2007

Here's some exciting news, I have the official and unofficial dates for the Holiday Open House!!!

The OFFICIAL Dates are Saturday & Sunday November 10th & 11th from 10-5. This is the weekend that all of Old Lucketts Store will be hosting a storewide Holiday Open House. That means every room and every dealer at Lucketts will be decked out for the holidays with delightful displays and fabulous finds!!! Refreshments & tasty treats will be served as well. If you are on the Lucketts mailing list, you will receive the most adorable card, inviting you to the event, so watch for that.

As for the UNOFFICIAL dates, I will have my space ready for the holidays one week earlier. So stop by on Saturday & Sunday November 3rd & 4th, to get first pick of all the good stuff before the big crowd comes the following weekend! I will be closing my room on the 2 days prior to the unofficial open house so, that I can transform the space into a glorious, german glass glitter encrusted, beaded, gilded, shimmering, Parisian palooza!

Expect to find the grandest assortment of holiday decor ever to be offered at Fleurish! Offerings include beautifully carved wooden angel wings, German glass glittered eiffel towers in every size imaginable, silvery sparkly mercury glass birds and urns, the loveliest glittered postcards, new rubber stamps & label kits with old fashioned Christmas images, Angel cloches, sequined stars, embroidered brocade crosses, boxwood wreaths, some fabulous vintage & antique surprises and so much more!!!

Here are a few photos of my shop space all dressed in Autumn shades. I love the look of sepia tones, especially this time of year! You can click on any of the photos to enlarge them.

There's something about these old alabaster marble pieces that always make my heart skip a beat! This piece is paired up with a tiny little antique book from the 1800's.

Lamps have been very popular sellers lately, now that the days are getting shorter. I've stocked my space with several beautiful styles that feature classic urn bases.

Recent Buying Trip

Recently my friend Lisa (who is also a fabulous dealer at Luckett's) and I went on a great buying trip together, so I thought it might be fun to give you a peak at our day! I love going on buying trips with Lisa, we shop, we talk, and eat alot of food, it's a blast!! We hit about 4 or 5 different shops/flea markets that day looking for treasures, I was only able to photograph a couple of them because most of our time was spent shopping, and umm... eating. :)
Here's a rare photo of me, I hate getting my picture taken, cause I always look stiff and awkward. If you ever saw the episode of "Friends" when Chandler has to get his picture taken, well ... that's me. Anyway, I found this beautiful print of Mary, with a sacred heart, a little hard to see but beautiful!

This is the shop owner of the first shop we went to, check out the wall full of old tins behind her! Lisa got the pretty fluted silverplate teapot on the right, I bought the simpler one on the left.

My old friend Pete, owns this shop. He specializes in old and rare books and always gives us a great deal as Lisa and I are always looking for "pretty books", but not necessarily rare ones. This is a cute little book nook, that Pete created at the back of his shop, he has comfy couches in it so you can relax and read.

At the end of the day we had worked up quite an appetite. No small portions here!!

I spread out some of my finds when I got home for you to see. I always look for antique ironstone china, transferware and silverplated pieces, as well as old paper items. All of these went straight to the shop the next day, quite a few of them are sold already, but there are still a few treasures left. ;)

Quilts

We got in a gorgeous new quilt style a few days ago! It's a beautiful rich red floral that reverses to a coordinating red and chocolate brown stripe on the opposite side. There's also a bit of sage green in it. So pretty!! The twin is priced at $99, full queen $129 and the king is $139. The shams are $18 each.

The not so great news is that the blue & white toile and the green & white toile that we have been carrying for the past year have both been discontinued.
We did manage to stock up on quite a few pieces before the manufacturer ran out of them though. What we have in stock are twins, kings and shams in both patterns. We do not have any queens or throws. The king size does work very well on a queen size bed though, it measures 105" wide by 95" long in case you want to measure your queen bed and see. The twins are priced at $89, the kings are $119 and the shams are $18 each.
